Vanilla Magic Custard Cake is a unique dessert that creates three layers while baking, including a custard layer.
Ingredients

- 115 g unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 480 ml milk, lukewarm
- 150 g powdered sugar
- 4 eggs, separated
- 15 ml water
- 115 g all-purpose flour
- 10 ml vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 165°C.
- Lightly grease a 20×20 cm baking dish and set aside.
- In a clean bowl, whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- Beat the egg yolks with powdered sugar until pale yellow.
- Mix in melted butter and water for about 2 minutes until evenly combined.
- Add flour and mix until fully incorporated.
- Slowly beat in lukewarm milk and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gently fold in the whipped egg whites in 3 additions until fully incorporated.
- Pour batter into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 40–60 minutes, until the cake is barely jiggly in the center.
- Cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Cover with foil if top browns too quickly.
- The center will be slightly jiggly due to the custard layer.
