Description

Vanilla Bean Strawberry Cream Puffs are a delightful dessert featuring light and airy pastry filled with a rich vanilla bean cream and fresh strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a saucepan, combine water and butter; bring to a boil.
  3. Stir in flour and salt until the mixture forms a ball.
  4. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Let cool completely.
  9. In a bowl, whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla bean paste until stiff peaks form.
  10. Cut the tops off the cooled puffs and fill with whipped cream and sliced strawberries.
  11. Replace the tops and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For best results, use fresh strawberries.
  • Can be made a few hours in advance, but fill just before serving.
  • Store any leftovers in the refrigerator.
