- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Stir in the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in the milk and heavy cream, cooking until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.
- Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.
- Transfer the mac and cheese to a greased baking dish.
- Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy topping.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
