Ingredients

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 jalapeño, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in the bell pepper and jalapeño, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier chili, add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
