- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cans (15 oz each) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 2 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic, cooking until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in the bell pepper and jalapeño, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the crushed tomatoes, kidney beans, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes.
- Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier chili, add more jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
