Description

Smoked cream cheese with hot honey is a flavorful appetizer perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • ½ tsp paprika sweet
  • ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon fennel seed
  • 8 oz cream cheese cold
  • ½ cup honey (Local Hive Honey recommended)
  • ½ tsp crushed red pepper
  • 6 oz seasoned crackers for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat smoker to 160°F-180°F.
  2. Place block of cream cheese onto a small sheet of parchment paper.
  3. Mix paprika, garlic, onion powder, sugar, salt, and fennel together. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the cream cheese.
  4. Score the cream cheese and place it in the smoker for 1½ hours.
  5. Right before removing the cream cheese, heat honey and red pepper flakes in a small sauce pot until warm.
  6. Remove cream cheese from the smoker and transfer to a platter. Top with hot honey.
  7. Serve with crackers alongside warm cream cheese.
