Description
Freshly prepared BBQ chicken sliders made in a slow cooker, topped with melted cheddar cheese on soft slider buns, ready to serve.
Ingredients
For the chicken:
1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
1 cup BBQ sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For the sliders:
12 slider buns
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sliced green onions (optional)
Butter for brushing
Instructions
Place the chicken breasts in the slow cooker. Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix to coat the chicken evenly.
Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender. Shred the chicken using two forks and mix it with the sauce in the slow cooker.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet. Spoon the shredded BBQ chicken onto each bun and top with shredded cheddar cheese. Add the top halves of the buns.
Melt some butter and brush it over the tops of the slider buns for added flavor.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the buns are lightly toasted.
Remove from the oven, sprinkle with sliced green onions if desired, and serve warm. Enjoy your delicious sliders!
