Description

A hearty and comforting slow cooker baked ziti that’s easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ziti pasta (uncooked)
  • 48 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (divided)
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese

Instructions

  1. In a 5-quart (or larger) slow cooker, add the uncooked ziti, marinara sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, Parmesan cheese, and 1 cup of the mozzarella. Stir well to combine.
  2. Drop small spoonfuls of ricotta over the mixture and gently stir it in.
  3. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup mozzarella over the top.
  4. Cover and cook on HIGH for 2–3 hours, checking occasionally. Pasta is done when tender to your liking.
  5. Serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley or basil if desired.

Notes

  • Use a flavorful marinara and good-quality cheese for best results.
  • If the sauce is mild, add ½ teaspoon salt at the start.
  • You can add garlic powder or crushed red pepper for extra flavor.
  • Italian seasoning can be replaced with oregano, thyme, and basil.
