Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup half and half
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 1/2 cup canned pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 tsp each: cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves
  • butter

Instructions

  1. Whisk the eggs, half and half, molasses, pumpkin, and spices in a wide shallow bowl.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and melt butter with vegetable oil.
  3. Soak each slice of bread in the pumpkin batter for about 30 seconds on each side.
  4. Let excess batter drip off before adding to the skillet.
  5. Cook until browned on each side, adjusting heat for thick bread.
  6. Serve hot with butter and maple syrup.
