- 6 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking dish.
- Spread the peach mixture over the batter evenly.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
- Feel free to adjust the sugar based on the sweetness of the peaches.
- This recipe can be made with frozen peaches if fresh ones are not available.
