A delicious Overnight French Toast Casserole that is easy to prepare and perfect for breakfast.

- 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
Instructions
- Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- Spread the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the bread, gently pressing the bread down so it absorbs the liquid.
- Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight for at least 8 hours.
- The next morning, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the melted butter with the brown sugar.
- Drizzle this mixture evenly over the casserole.
- Bake uncovered for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the center is fully set.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- You can prepare this casserole up to 24 hours in advance.
- Serve with maple syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or microwave.
