Ingredients

- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Prepare an 8×8 inch baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add sugar, corn syrup, and salt to the pan. Stir until combined.
- Slowly add heavy cream while stirring continuously.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low.
- Cook until the mixture reaches 245°F (firm ball stage) on a candy thermometer.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour the caramel into the prepared baking dish.
- Let it cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Store caramels in an airtight container.
- Use a sharp knife for clean cuts.
- Wrap individual caramels in wax paper for easy handling.
