Description

Decadent layered Nutella Mascarpone Cake topped with smooth chocolate ganache and hazelnut garnish — a luxurious dessert centerpiece.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup Nutella
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat together the Nutella, mascarpone cheese, and softened butter until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and milk to the Nutella mixture and mix until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans and smooth the tops.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until just simmering, then pour over the chopped chocolate. Let sit for a few minutes, then stir until smooth.
  10. Once the cakes are cool, spread a layer of ganache between the two layers and on top of the cake.
  11. Decorate with additional Nutella or chocolate shavings if desired.

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
