Ingredients
For the brownies:
200 g dark chocolate
150 g unsalted butter
250 g sugar
3 large eggs
100 g all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
For the Milky Way layer:
4 Milky Way bars, chopped
200 ml heavy cream
For the whipped cream:
300 ml heavy cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For assembly:
Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish
Instructions
Make the brownies:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Fold in the flour and salt until just combined. Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool completely. Prepare the Milky Way layer:
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the chopped Milky Way bars, stirring until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly. Make the whipped cream:
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. Assemble the trifle jars:
Cut the cooled brownies into small squares. In each jar, layer brownie pieces, a spoonful of the Milky Way mixture, and a layer of whipped cream. Repeat the layers until the jars are filled, finishing with whipped cream on top. Garnish and serve:
Top with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving. Enjoy your delicious trifle!
