Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mirin
  • 1 tablespoon sake
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • Wooden skewers, soaked in water

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
  3. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and let it sit for at least 30 minutes.
  4. Thread the marinated chicken and green onion pieces onto the soaked skewers.
  5. Preheat the grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 3-4 minutes on each side, basting with leftover marinade.
  7. Once cooked, remove from the grill and serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add sesame seeds on top before serving.
  • Make sure to soak the skewers to prevent them from burning on the grill.
