Description

Instant Rava Idli is a quick and easy Indian breakfast dish made from semolina. It requires no fermentation, making it ideal for busy mornings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup semolina (rava)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped vegetables (carrots, peas)
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix semolina, yogurt, and water. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
  2. Add baking soda, salt, and chopped vegetables to the mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, and let them splutter.
  4. Add turmeric powder to the oil and mix well.
  5. Combine the oil mixture with the idli batter.
  6. Grease idli molds and pour the batter into them.
  7. Steam the idlis for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove from molds and serve hot with chutney.

Notes

  • Use any vegetables you prefer.
  • Adjust water to get the desired batter consistency.
