Delicious homemade soft pretzel bites, perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups warm water
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1 large egg
- Coarse sea salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large bowl, mix warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour and mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
- Roll dough into small balls, about 1 inch in size.
- In a pot, boil water and baking soda together.
- Drop pretzel bites into the boiling water for 30 seconds.
- Remove and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve with mustard or cheese dip.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat in the oven for best texture.
