Holiday Lasagna: 7 Layers of Love and Comfort

Description

A rich and hearty lasagna perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 4 cups marinara sauce
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper until combined.
  4. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
  5. Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
  6. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
  7. Add a third of the mozzarella cheese on top.
  8. Repeat the layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
  9. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  10. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  11. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  12. Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can add cooked ground meat for extra protein.
  • Let leftovers cool completely before storing.
  • This dish can be made a day ahead and baked before serving.
