A rich and hearty lasagna perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients

- 12 lasagna noodles
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 4 cups marinara sauce
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 1 tablespoon dried basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, eggs, basil, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Layer 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles.
- Add a third of the mozzarella cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers: sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, and mozzarella.
- Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can add cooked ground meat for extra protein.
- Let leftovers cool completely before storing.
- This dish can be made a day ahead and baked before serving.
