Description
Healthy Homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces brewed coffee or 1–2 shots espresso
- ½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 3 tablespoons canned pumpkin or homemade pumpkin purée
- ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 2 teaspoons maple syrup or sweetener of choice
- Pinch of ground cinnamon (for topping)
Instructions
- In a small saucepan or microwave-safe cup, whisk together the almond milk and pumpkin purée.
- Heat gently over medium heat or microwave for 30–45 seconds until warm (do not boil).
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup.
- Use a handheld frother or blender to froth the mixture until creamy and foamy, about 30 seconds.
- Pour the hot coffee into a large mug.
- Slowly pour the warm, frothed pumpkin milk mixture over the coffee.
- Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon and serve immediately.
Notes
- Pumpkin settling: Using real pumpkin may cause a small amount to settle at the bottom. Simply stir before drinking.
- Frothing tip: A frother or blender helps fully combine the pumpkin and spices for a smooth texture.
- Sweetness: Adjust maple syrup to taste or use another sweetener you prefer.
- Make ahead: The pumpkin milk mixture can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat and froth before serving.
- Milk options: Any plant-based or regular milk can be used instead of almond milk.
