- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 tablespoons coconut oil
- 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine water, coconut oil, honey, and salt. Bring to a boil.
- Remove from heat and stir in the whole wheat flour until a dough forms.
- Let the dough cool slightly, then add vanilla extract and mix well.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Shape the dough into small bite-sized pieces or churro shapes.
- Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the churro bites in a single layer.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl and toss the churro bites in the mixture after cooking.
Notes
- For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
- Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
- Serve with a dipping sauce like chocolate or caramel for extra indulgence.
