Description

Delicious and healthier version of churros made in an air fryer, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth without the guilt.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine water, coconut oil, honey, and salt. Bring to a boil.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the whole wheat flour until a dough forms.
  3. Let the dough cool slightly, then add vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Shape the dough into small bite-sized pieces or churro shapes.
  6. Spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray and place the churro bites in a single layer.
  7. Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  8. Mix cinnamon and sugar in a bowl and toss the churro bites in the mixture after cooking.

Notes

  • For a vegan option, use maple syrup instead of honey.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less honey/maple syrup.
