Description
Grilled Pineapple Recipe with a caramelized glaze.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fresh pineapple
- ¼ cup butter, melted
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- ¼ cup dark rum (optional)
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Prepare the Pineapple: Using a sharp knife, cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple. Remove the rind and slice into ¾–1-inch spears or rings. If using rings, remove the core with a small cutter. Place pineapple pieces into a large zip-top bag.
- Make the Marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, rum (if using), cinnamon, and salt until smooth. Pour the mixture into the bag with the pineapple. Gently toss to coat evenly. Refrigerate for 20–30 minutes.
- Grill: Preheat grill or grill pan to medium heat (375–400°F / 190–205°C). Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking. Grill pineapple for 4–6 minutes per side, brushing with excess marinade as it cooks.
- Serve: Transfer grilled pineapple to a serving platter. Serve immediately while warm and caramelized.
Notes
- Don’t skip the marinade – even 30 minutes makes a big flavor difference.
- Preheat well for clean grill marks and even caramelization.
- No grill? Use a grill pan or broil in the oven.
- Delicious served with vanilla ice cream, yogurt, pancakes, or grilled meats.
