Description

A savory and crunchy stuffing made with sourdough bread.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups sourdough bread, cubed
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 cup celery, chopped
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1 tablespoon sage, dried
  • 1 tablespoon thyme, dried
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add onion and celery, sauté until soft.
  4. Add dried herbs, salt, and pepper; stir well.
  5. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and sautéed mixture.
  6. Pour vegetable broth over the mixture, stirring to combine.
  7. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Use stale sourdough for better texture.
  • Feel free to add nuts or dried fruit for extra flavor.
  • Can be prepared a day ahead and baked before serving.
