Ingredients

- 8 cups sourdough bread, cubed
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 1 cup celery, chopped
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 tablespoon sage, dried
- 1 tablespoon thyme, dried
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onion and celery, sauté until soft.
- Add dried herbs, salt, and pepper; stir well.
- In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and sautéed mixture.
- Pour vegetable broth over the mixture, stirring to combine.
- Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Use stale sourdough for better texture.
- Feel free to add nuts or dried fruit for extra flavor.
- Can be prepared a day ahead and baked before serving.
