- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon gelatin
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- Fresh berries for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- While the cake is baking, prepare the Bavarian cream by heating the milk and dissolving the gelatin in it.
- In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
- Once the cake is cooled, layer the Bavarian cream on top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and fresh berries if desired.
Notes
- Ensure the cake is completely cooled before adding the cream layer.
- This cake can be made a day in advance for better flavor.
