Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon gelatin
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • Fresh berries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  6. While the cake is baking, prepare the Bavarian cream by heating the milk and dissolving the gelatin in it.
  7. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  8. Once the cake is cooled, layer the Bavarian cream on top and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  9. Before serving, top with whipped cream and fresh berries if desired.
