Description

Crispy and sweet Korean fried chicken bites coated in a sticky sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Green onions, chopped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip chicken pieces in the flour mixture, then in water.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for frying.
  5. Fry chicken until golden brown and crispy.
  6. In another pan, combine soy sauce, honey, gochujang, rice vinegar, garlic, and sesame oil.
  7. Cook the sauce over medium heat until it thickens.
  8. Coat fried chicken pieces in the sauce.
  9. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
  10. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of gochujang.
  • Serve with rice or as an appetizer.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container.
