Crispy Chicken Burger Perfection: Ultimate Recipe Guide

  • Author: YALE ZAPATA

Description

A mouthwatering crispy chicken burger loaded with fresh lettuce, sliced onions, melted cheddar cheese, and creamy ranch dressing, all sandwiched between perfectly toasted sesame seed buns. The golden, crispy chicken fillet stands out as the centerpiece, offering a delightful crunch in every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts, pounded thin
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for extra spice)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 4 sesame seed buns, toasted
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • Sliced red onions
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Ranch dressing or your favorite sauce

Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken breasts with buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to tenderize and infuse flavor.
  • Prepare the Coating: In another bowl, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper. This seasoning blend will give your chicken an irresistible flavor.
  • Coat the Chicken: Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, pressing gently to ensure an even coating. For an extra crispy texture, dip the chicken back into the buttermilk and then again into the flour mixture.
  • Heat the Oil: In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). The oil should be hot enough to fry the chicken quickly without burning.
  • Fry the Chicken: Carefully place the coated chicken in the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side or until the chicken is golden, crispy, and cooked through. Remove from the oil and drain on a wire rack to keep the chicken crispy.
  • Assemble the Burger: Spread your favorite sauce on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Layer with lettuce, a slice of cheddar cheese, fried chicken, sliced onions, and pickles if using. Top with the other half of the bun.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Serve the crispy chicken burgers hot with a side of fries, onion rings, or a fresh salad.
