Description

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
  2. Add the chilled butter and mix until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Stir in cold water and vanilla extract until the dough comes together.
  4. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and fit it into a pie pan.
  7. Trim the excess dough and crimp the edges as desired.
