Ingredients

Scale

For the Graham Cracker Crust:

  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs (about 9 whole crackers)
  • 7 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 3 tablespoons granulated sugar

For the Cream Cheese Filling:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 container Cool Whip (8 ounces)

For the Cherry Topping:

  • 1 can cherry pie filling (21 ounces)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Graham Cracker Crust:
    • In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs and granulated sugar. Pour in the melted butter and mix until the crumbs are evenly coated and resemble wet sand.
    • Press the crumb mixture firmly into the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish. Use the back of a measuring cup or a glass to ensure an even, compact layer. Place the dish in the refrigerator to chill while you prepare the filling.
  • Make the Cream Cheese Filling:
    • In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and free of lumps.
    • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract to the cream cheese. Mix until well combined and smooth.
    • Gently fold in the Cool Whip, taking care not to overmix. You want the mixture to remain light and fluffy.
    • Spread the cream cheese filling evenly over the chilled graham cracker crust. Use a spatula to smooth the top for an even layer.
  • Add the Cherry Topping:
    • Open the can of cherry pie filling and give it a gentle stir to ensure the cherries are evenly distributed.
    • Carefully spoon the cherry pie filling over the cream cheese layer, spreading it evenly to cover the entire surface.
  • Chill the Dessert:
    • Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or ideally overnight. This allows the layers to set and the flavors to meld together.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
    • Once chilled, slice the Classic Cherry Delight into squares and serve cold. Enjoy the delightful combination of crunchy, creamy, and fruity layers!
