Description

A sweet and crunchy snack mix made with Rice Chex cereal, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon.


Ingredients

  • 8 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 275°F (135°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon. Set aside.
  3. Melt the butter in a microwave-safe glass measuring cup. Add the brown sugar, stir well, then microwave for another 20–30 seconds until the sugar dissolves (do not let it boil). Whisk until smooth.
  4. Place the Rice Chex cereal in a large bowl and drizzle the butter–sugar mixture over it. Gently stir until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the cereal onto the prepared baking sheet and sprinkle evenly with the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  6. Bake for about 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

  • Stirring regularly helps prevent burning and ensures even coating.
  • Let the mix cool completely to become crisp.
