Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture. Combine with dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  7. Spread maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts over the dough.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 pieces.
  9. Place the slices in a greased baking dish. Let them rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze. Drizzle over warm buns.
