Description
Cinnamon Maple Walnut Buns are sweet, sticky, and filled with flavor. They make a perfect breakfast or dessert.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla to the yeast mixture. Combine with dry ingredients.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
- Spread maple syrup, brown sugar, cinnamon, and walnuts over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and slice into 12 pieces.
- Place the slices in a greased baking dish. Let them rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and milk for glaze. Drizzle over warm buns.
Notes
- Use fresh yeast for best results.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container.
- Reheat in the oven for a few minutes if needed.
