Description

A warm and creamy beverage made with coconut milk and chai spices.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 13.5 oz coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 12 inch fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 4 Medjool dates, pitted
  • 1 star anise
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 12 pinches cardamom
  • 1 pinch cloves
  • Extra whole star anise, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a pot over medium heat.
  2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 5–10 minutes.
  3. Remove the whole star anise using a spoon.
  4. Transfer the remaining mixture to a blender and blend for about 1 minute until smooth.
  5. Pour into mugs and garnish with extra whole star anise before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of ginger to control the level of spice.
  • Serve warm for the best flavor and aroma.
