Description
Caramel Pretzel Crunch Bars
Ingredients
3 cups pretzels (broken into pieces)
1 cup unsalted butter (melted)
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
1/2 cup caramel sauce
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Pretzel layer: Break the pretzels into small pieces and spread them evenly in the bottom of the pan.
Caramel topping: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring it to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly.
Pour and set: Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the pretzels, spreading it out with a spatula. Let it cool and set for about 15 minutes at room temperature.
Chocolate drizzle: Once the caramel has cooled, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or on a double boiler. Drizzle the melted chocolate evenly over the bars.
Add nuts (optional): Sprinkle chopped pecans over the chocolate for added crunch and flavor, if desired.
Cool and serve: Let the bars cool in the fridge for about 1-2 hours, or until they are fully set. Cut into squares and enjoy!
Enjoy your sweet, salty, and crunchy treat!
