Caramel Pretzel Crunch Bars


Ingredients

3 cups pretzels (broken into pieces) 🥨
1 cup unsalted butter (melted) 🧈
1 cup brown sugar (packed) 🍯
1 teaspoon vanilla extract 🍦
1/2 teaspoon salt 🧂
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips 🍫
1/2 cup caramel sauce 🍬
1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional) 🌰

Instructions

Prepare the pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Pretzel layer: Break the pretzels into small pieces and spread them evenly in the bottom of the pan. 🥨
Caramel topping: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Bring it to a simmer and cook for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. 🍯🔥
Pour and set: Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the pretzels, spreading it out with a spatula. Let it cool and set for about 15 minutes at room temperature. 🍬❄️
