Description

Sweet and crunchy candied pecans.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 cups unsalted pecan halves
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the egg white, vanilla, and water until frothy.
  4. Add the pecans and toss gently until well coated.
  5. Add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss until the pecans are fully covered.
  6. Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 30–45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until the coating hardens.
  8. Remove from the oven and allow pecans to cool completely on the baking sheet.
