Sweet and crunchy candied pecans.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 4 cups unsalted pecan halves
- 1 egg white
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 300°F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, whisk the egg white, vanilla, and water until frothy.
- Add the pecans and toss gently until well coated.
- Add the cinnamon-sugar mixture and toss until the pecans are fully covered.
- Spread the pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 30–45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until the coating hardens.
- Remove from the oven and allow pecans to cool completely on the baking sheet.
Notes
- Makes about 4 cups of candied pecans.
- Storage: Room temperature (airtight container): up to 1 month
