5-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cups: 7 Steps to Blissful Treats

  • Author: Yale Zapata
  • Total Time: 1 hour
  • Yield: 10-12 cups 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

Delicious homemade peanut butter cups made with just five ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
  • ½ cup natural peanut butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Line a muffin tin with paper or silicone liners. This recipe makes about 10–12 cups, depending on layer thickness.
  2. Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir, then continue heating in 30-second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Spoon about 1–2 teaspoons of melted chocolate into each liner, just enough to cover the bottom. Place the tray in the freezer for 5–10 minutes until set.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, and sea salt. Heat briefly until slightly melted and stir until smooth.
  5. Remove the tray from the freezer and evenly pour the peanut butter mixture over each chocolate layer. Return to the freezer for about 5 minutes.
  6. Spoon the remaining melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, fully covering it.
  7. Place the tray back in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour until completely set.
  8. Transfer to the refrigerator and store chilled until serving.

Notes

  • These peanut butter cups must be kept cold. Store them in the refrigerator or freezer to prevent melting.
  • If stored in the freezer, let them sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating to soften slightly.
  • Natural peanut butter works best. Stir well before using if the oil has separated.
  • Make sure each layer is set before adding the next to keep clean, defined layers.
  • For easier removal, silicone muffin liners are recommended.
