Description
Delicious homemade peanut butter cups made with just five ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
- ½ cup natural peanut butter
- ¼ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons melted coconut oil
- Pinch of sea salt
Instructions
- Line a muffin tin with paper or silicone liners. This recipe makes about 10–12 cups, depending on layer thickness.
- Melt the chocolate chips and coconut oil in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir, then continue heating in 30-second intervals until fully melted and smooth.
- Spoon about 1–2 teaspoons of melted chocolate into each liner, just enough to cover the bottom. Place the tray in the freezer for 5–10 minutes until set.
- In a separate bowl, combine peanut butter, honey, coconut oil, and sea salt. Heat briefly until slightly melted and stir until smooth.
- Remove the tray from the freezer and evenly pour the peanut butter mixture over each chocolate layer. Return to the freezer for about 5 minutes.
- Spoon the remaining melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer, fully covering it.
- Place the tray back in the freezer for 30 minutes to 1 hour until completely set.
- Transfer to the refrigerator and store chilled until serving.
Notes
- These peanut butter cups must be kept cold. Store them in the refrigerator or freezer to prevent melting.
- If stored in the freezer, let them sit at room temperature for about 5 minutes before eating to soften slightly.
- Natural peanut butter works best. Stir well before using if the oil has separated.
- Make sure each layer is set before adding the next to keep clean, defined layers.
- For easier removal, silicone muffin liners are recommended.
