Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the melted butter, milk, egg, vanilla extract, and maple syrup.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. While the bars are baking, prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar and maple syrup in a bowl.
  8. Once the bars are done, let them cool slightly before drizzling the glaze on top.
  9. Cut into bars and serve warm or at room temperature.
